23rd June So now we start again, the walls have to be raised and the waste pipes before we can refill the foundations. Time wasted and an extra 6000 Zloty but we at last found an honourable Builder the man was fantastic, very helpful and always went that extra bit to help.
This was when things started to go wrong! The builder after finishing the foundations failed to tell the project manager who then failed to inspect the site. We then found out that the builder had left the country as the government were after him for using non registered workers and were about to take him to court. So I think we were lucky that we had only paid him till this point.
We found another builder who took one look at the site and said the foundations were 1.5 mtrs to low as the road height would allow the water back onto our property. The first reaction was he is trying to make some money but our project manager agreed with him.
I found that the building techniques in England and Poland vary in several areas. The first was the foundation construction because Poland seems to use a lot of underfloor heating a sand infill is used and on our site we used 27 loads on the first fill.
